Furman University Golf Club

Address: 400 N Hwy 25 Bypass, Greenville, SC 29617

We invite you to come and play one of the top college golf courses in the country. The Furman Golf Club has been voted #1 Public Golf Course in Greenville, and the entire Upstate by the South Carolina Golf Ratings Panel. Furman University Golf Course was also ranked No. 17 in Golfweek's "Best Campus Courses” in 2016 and has received a 3.5 star ranking from Golf Digest. It is also where Furman alums and professional golfers Betsy King, Beth Daniel, Dottie Pepper and Brad Faxon honed their college games.

The challenging, par-72 layout underwent a major renovation in 2008, where all 18 greens were reconstructed under USGA specifications and reseeded with Champion UltraDwarf Bermudagrass. A long-term master plan, implemented in 2010, has led to a new practice facility for the Furman golf teams, enhanced public practice facilities, new tees to accommodate golfers of all levels, bunker strategy improvement, refurbished cart paths, irrigation upgrades, major drainage installation and clubhouse enhancements. The course now also qualifies as a PGA Family Course.

Greenville Country Club - Chanticleer Course

Address: 502 Garden Trail, Greenville, SC 29605

The Chanticleer Course, designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., has been consistently ranked as the top course in Upstate South Carolina. Rolling fairways, towering hardwoods and pines, pure white sand, gently flowing creeks, and some of the most challenging greens in the nation combine to make Chanticleer one of the most memorable experiences in the U.S. for even the best golfers. The course has an impressive slope of 150 and course rating of 74.9 from the tips with water and or out of bounds on all 18 holes.

Greenville Country Club - Riverside Course

Address: 239 Byrd Blvd., Greenville, SC 29605

The Riverside Course, originally laid out on a topographical map by famed course designer Donald Ross in 1919 was later directed during on-site construction by golf architect William B. Langford. The course was finished in 1923 and opened on July 4. The original course was all on 158 acres above the Reedy River. Local architect, George Cobb, redesigned the course to incorporate land purchased "across the Reedy" which included seven new holes four decades later and the "new" Riverside opened on June 16, 1962. In 2006 the Club commissioned famed architect, Brian Silva to completely redesign the course in the Seth Raynor style and the course opened to rave reviews in the fall of 2007. In 2016, Riverside's greens were converted to Champions Ultra-Dwarf Bermuda, a surface ideal for the links-style strategy conducive to many of the holes.
